De Stichting School van Z.M. Koning Willem III en H.M. Koningin Emma der Nederlanden is voortgekomen uit de Koningsschool. Deze werd in Apeldoorn in 1852 als lagere school door Koning Willem III opgericht. In 1960 werd de school voortgezet als Bosbouwtechnische school, die in 1990 opging in het Agrarisch Opleidingscentrum Helicon. Sinds 1990 is de Stichting Koningsschool een fondsbeherend orgaan. Er zijn geen formele banden met de school meer.
The Foundation evolved out of the Koningsschool that was founded as a junior secondary vocational school by King William III in 1852. This school was continued as a technical college for forestry in 1960 and upgraded into an Agricultural Training Centre in 1990.
De doelstelling van de stichting Koningsschool is het bevorderen van de kennis over het bos en de bosbouw en de daarmee samenhangende maatschappelijke functies. De Stichting wil projecten die passen binnen de doelstelling financieel steunen, uit het rendement van het beschikbare stichtingskapitaal. Op dit moment neemt de Koningsschool geen projectaanvragen in behandeling. Er bestaat een langjarige donorrelatie met het Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Programme, Philippijnen.
The aim of the School is to promote knowledge of forests and forestry together with all associated subjects. One of the ways to accomplish this is by providing small financial support for projects relating to the achievement of this aim. As there is a long-term donor relationship with the Non-Timber Forest Products Exchange Programme, Philippines, the school will currently not take new project applications into consideration.
